Mi academic background has been developed at the Universidade de Vigo, studying "Management Computer Science Technical Engineering" (2005) and "Computer Science Engineering" (2007). Then, I have completed the PhD program "Advanced Technologies for Intelligent Software Development" of the Computer Science Department, which has enabled me to obtain the Diploma de Estudios Avanzados (DEA) in 2009, making me specialize in Image Processing. In July 7, 2011, I presented my PhD dissertation called "Procesamiento de imagen y visión hiperespectral para el control de calidad en la industria de la patata (Image processing and hyperspectral imaging for quality control in the potato industry)", collaborating with the Laboratory of Applied Computer Science (LIA), under the direction of Dr. Arno Formella and Dr. Pilar Carrión Pardo, and obtaining the highest qualification: Sobresaliente Cum Laude.
Regarding my professional experience, since November 2011, I am a researcher at the Centro Tecnológico de Automoción de Galicia (CTAG). I work in software development related R&D projects using computer visiona and artificial intelligence technics.
From January 2010, to November 2011, I worked as a researcher at the Laboratorio de Informática Aplicada (LIA) from the Departamento de Informática from the Escuela Superior de Ingeniería Informática (ESEI) from the Universidade de Vigo. I collaborated in R&D projects related to software development, image processing, WSN and other issues.
I worked for almost three years (February 2007 to December 2009) at the Metrology Laboratory of Galicia (LOMG), thanks to OFOE and FEUGA grants and to the RH program Lucas Labrada of the Dirección Xeral de I+D+i of the Xunta de Galicia. My work was focused on management and implementation of R&D computer vision projects, but I developed other software, I managed grants of any kind, I took responsability of economic planning and innovation (certification in UNE 166.002 Spanish innovation norm), I managed the IT department of the company, I calibrated metrology equipment in the Temperature department, I wrote press releases, I organized scientific outreach projects and general paperwork. A bit of everything, indeed.
Both my time at LOMG and now at LIA, the core of my activity has been the development of R&D projects. These projects have been focused on the use and application of image processing and computer vision techniques to quality nondestructive controls in agrofood industries. For this, my interests are computer vision, image processing, hyperspectral imaging, machine learning, artificial intelligence and genetic algorithms.
